We are trying to determine how best to shape our energies to best serve the families in our community through our Children's and Family Ministries. In order to better understand the needs of our families and what has or has not been working, we’ve created a brief survey for you to fill out. Your feedback as a parent is critical to the development of the program. We want you and your child(ren) to love and cherish the programs offered.

It shouldn’t take more than a couple of minutes, and we deeply appreciate your feedback!

children's sunday school

KidMin at St. Philip's is back! Join us in Room 104 Sundays at 9:15 am for an exciting Bible lesson with fun, crafts and a light snack.

  • children's time

During our worship service, we invite the children to come forward and gather for an interactive little Bible lesson. The children are encouraged to participate in the discussion. At the conclusion of the lesson, everyone, including the children and congregation, have a responsive prayer.

Each year we also have the Blessing of the Backpacks the Sunday before children go back to school.

  • Second Saturday family fun day

Every second Saturday of the month we host Family Fun Day from 3 pm - 5 pm. Activities include seasonal crafts, games, music and light snacks. Recent events have had bouncy houses, a water slide, a rock wall and even snow! These events are free to the community and we would love for you to join and see what all the fun is about! Please check our events calendar for upcoming dates.

*We hope to resume Family Fun Day soon!*

  • vacation bible school

Each summer, SPUMC hosts a week long themed VBS for children ages 4 through entering 5th grade. Children get to learn more about the Bible and God's love while rotating between different activity stations. Each evening begins and concludes in the Fellowship Hall where our youth lead the children in fun songs and dances. Please check our events calendar for this year's schedule.

If you missed VBS this summer, you can click here to view all five days of our Rocky Railway adventure!

  • easter eggstravaganza

This annual event attracts children and their families from all over the neighborhood. There are fun activities for kids, including crafts, games and face painting. When the activities wind down, everyone will gather inside the sanctuary for an Easter story (while the eggs and other goodies are hidden on the church grounds). Then an exciting Easter Egg Hunt will take place, with the children divided into age groups. Finally, an egg toss for adults and children  provides a hilarious ending to the afternoon.
