St. Philip’s UMC Day School had its beginnings back in the mid-1960’s. When first opened, the Day School was called a “nursery school” and served young children in the area with a two day per week program. In the 1970’s, the neighborhood surrounding St. Philip’s United Methodist Church was growing up and with not many young families in the area, the nursery school closed. In the early 1980’s, the school reopened under the name St. Philip’s Discovery Club and Mother’s Day Out.

In recent years, the program at St. Philip’s has grown. At the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year, the school adopted the working name of St. Philip’s Day School to reflect more on the learning environment of the school. The Day School serves children from toddlers to five years old. We offer Mother’s Day Out and Preschool classes, and a five day a week Pre-Kindergarten class. Lunch Bunch is the highlight of the day for our older classes to enjoy the afternoon with friends and activities.
