ST. PHILIP'S CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
During our worship service, we invite the children to come forward and gather for an interactive little Bible lesson. The children are encouraged to participate in the discussion. At the conclusion of the lesson, everyone, including the children and congregation, have a responsive prayer.
Each year we also have the Blessing of the Backpacks the Sunday before children go back to school.
Kids ages 4 - 11 are invited to join us for dinner, games, crafts, and a movie while parents enjoy an evening out!
That’s right – our SPUMC Youth and Adult Chaperones offer an evening full of activities and fun games for your kiddos to enjoy. C’mon-you deserve a night off! Drop off your kids and go enjoy a night on the town while your kids have an awesome time here at the church. It’s a win-win situation and the most affordable babysitting service in town!
Space is limited, so please register in advance. $30 per child, additional siblings $10. Please register here or contact the church office: 713.666.2175
Every second Saturday of the month we host Family Fun Day from 3 pm - 5 pm. Activities include seasonal crafts, games, music and light snacks. Recent events have had bouncy houses, a water slide, a rock wall and even snow! These events are free to the community and we would love for you to join and see what all the fun is about! Please check our events calendar for upcoming dates.
*We hope to resume Family Fun Day soon!*
This annual event attracts children and their families from all over the neighborhood. There are fun activities for kids, including crafts, games, face painting and a huge egg hunt. When the activities wind down, everyone will gather for an Easter story. Finally, an egg toss for adults and children provides a hilarious ending to the afternoon.
Each summer, SPUMC hosts a week long themed VBS for children ages 4 through entering 5th grade. Children get to learn more about the Bible and God's love while rotating between different activity stations. Each evening begins and concludes in the Fellowship Hall where our youth lead the children in fun songs and dances. Please check our events calendar for this year's schedule.
Octobers at SPUMC are filled with fun family events. Our pumpkins arrive the first weekend and it's always fun teaming with our scouts to unload the thousands of pumpkins and gourds. The second Saturday is Movie in the Patch night complete with popcorn and sno-cones. And don't forget Trunk-or-Treat on Halloween! From our Fall festival to strolling through the pumpkin patch there is something for everyone.
