Senior Adult Bus Trip to HMNS
<p>Okay people (seniors 50+, that is), here is youropportunity to break out of your confinement. The next senior bus outing is to the Houston Museum of Natural Scienceon Saturday, April 10, for a visit that you can customize to yourinterests! Yay! We will take the bus to the museum and thenyou will be able to visit <i><u>one of two</u></i>exhibits:</p><p>1) <b>BodyWorlds and The Cycle of Life</b>—This exhibit shows actual human bodies thathave been preserved through an advanced process called Plastination. Visitorscan follow the human body through the span of time and learn about the latestfindings in anatomy, longevity and health. Or, you may decide to visit:</p><p> </p><p>2) <b>Pompeii: The Exhibition</b>—this exhibit examines the lives of residents of Pompeii before and after thecatastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius on August 24th, 79 A.D. It featuresover 150 artifacts on loan from the collection of the Naples NationalArchaeological Museum.</p><p><i>Howcool is this?</i> You may go to whatever special exhibit youare interested in and then also visit the Permanent collections such as thedinosaurs, Faberge, and so much more. Astop will be made for lunch (on your own) at Cleburne Cafeteria after themuseum visit. It is amazing that opportunities such as this exist in today’sworld.</p><p><b>Hereare the relevant details:</b></p><p>· Daytrip for senior citizens (age 50+) on Saturday, April 10. Bus departs SPUMC parking lot, 5501 Beechnut,at 10:00 am, returns about 3:00 pm. Everyone is invited, so, ask your friends.</p><p>· Youmust choose which exhibit (<i>Body Worlds</i>or <i>Pompeii</i>) you would like to attendwhen you reserve your place.</p><p>· TheMuseum and the Precinct 3 bus require social distancing and masks, so do notsign up if wearing a mask is a problem for you.</p><p>· Thecost for your trip is $20 per person (cash or check made out to “Tom Wilkinson.” Please make arrangements for payment when youreserve your spot.</p>
