Las Posadas 2021

What an amazing week of faith and fellowship in our community! From Thursday through Sunday, we hosted a Las Posadas event, and it was such a blessing to see so many of our neighbors participate in the nightly processions and celebrations. On the fourth and final evening, the travelers were welcomed into the sanctuary for a bi-lingual service full of music featuring soloist Enrique Barrera, scripture, and a live nativity performed by our Youth Group. Then it was on to the final celebration! Guests were greeted with the aroma of freshly hand-made tamales, sweet breads and ponche naviendo as they entered into brightly decorated Fellowship Hall. While we dined, we were treated to a very special hour of traditional music performed by Houston’s very own Mariachi Band: “Mariachi Luna Llena” from Rice University, followed by a very festive game of piñatas!

What a truly wonderful experience for so many. We are so grateful to those that participated in the event, and what a blessing to meet so many new friends and catch up with some familiar ones! May we all capture that sense of community and peace in our hearts and carry it with us throughout the year, sharing God's love with all our neighbors.

We want to thank all those that helped with all the many aspects of making this event possible. It was an amazing success, and it could not have happened without each and every one of you!
